I am excited to announce that the second book in the For the Love of Austen series, "Smitten in the Stacks," is now available in paperback! And for those of you who prefer eBooks, it is up for pre-order on Amazon and will be released on June 13th.

In this sweet, lighthearted romance with a dash of humor and a nod to Austen, we follow the story of Paris Novak, a bookshop owner and self-proclaimed romance enthusiast, who finds herself in a delightful predicament when Dax Granger, a horror aficionado, joins her book club. Sparks fly and pages turn as these two mismatched bibliophiles engage in a genre-swapping reading challenge. Will Paris find her own happily ever after, or will their contrasting tastes lead to a not-so-happy ending?

Grab your paperback copy now or pre-order the eBook on Amazon to ensure you don't miss out on this bookish love story when it hits virtual shelves on June 13th.

Happy reading, and may your bookshelves always be filled with the perfect blend of heart and humor!

Yours in literature, love, and laughter,
~Sherry

πŸ’˜PRIDE & PROPERTYπŸ’˜

Genre: Small-Town Sweet Romantic Comedy

πŸ’• πŸ’• πŸ’•

In the height of summer in the small town of Honeysuckle Hollow, Briar Quinn—author and Austen aficionado—plans to pen her next literary masterpiece in serene solitude. But when the incessant noise from a nearby construction site shatters her concentration, she's determined to halt the disruptive development. To her shock, the man behind the chaos is none other than her high school sweetheart—the one who broke her heart and stole her English notes.

Drake Winslow, a charming yet brazen real estate developer and modern-day Wentworth (if he bulldozed historic homes), has grand plans to replace the town's old Victorians with sleek, modern homes. Armed with a seemingly inexhaustible supply of gourmet coffee bribes for the town council, he's not about to let a bookish ex-girlfriend stand in his way.

When Drake's grand plans for a neighborhood makeover collide with Briar's desperate need for peace and quiet, they find themselves entangled in a battle of wits, wills, and scorching chemistry. From their first calamitous encounter involving a raccoon to the fate of the neighborhood, Briar and Drake discover that the heart's blueprint doesn't always follow plan.

Is it possible for a bulldozer and a wordsmith to learn that the best second chances are the ones you never see coming?

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a baker in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a sassy flirt...

When Kenzi Middleton, an out-of-work graphic designer and Jane Austen fangirl, steps into Doughy Desires, she expects an awkward blind date, not a job interview. Talk about mixed signals! With financial pressures mounting, Kenzi sees this twist of fate as a much-needed lifeline.

Which is why Kenzi lies through her teeth to the broodingly gorgeous bakery owner, Mr. Darcy, erm—Bishop Caine about her baking experience. Or lack thereof. And Kenzi knows she should absolutely not be crushing on her new boss, she has enough trouble discerning sugar from salt.

Yet despite Bishop’s gruff demeanor and the pressure of false pretenses, a passion ignites between them hotter than any oven. But just as Kenzi starts to weaken his stern exterior, family drama, spiteful rumors, and a cutthroat bake-off threaten their budding romance.

If only Kenzi can get around the deceit of her baking bluff, then she just might have a chance at happiness…

Will mixing flour and feelings lead to a recipe for disaster, or can love prove the sweetest ingredient of all?

                                                                            πŸ’•πŸ§πŸ’•

I can't wait to hear what you think of Kenzi and Bishop's journey to finding love amidst the flour, feelings, and family rivalries.

A Love Letter to Jane Austen: How She Inspired My Journey to Writing Romance

Ever since I first turned the pages of a worn, second-hand copy of "Pride and Prejudice," I knew I had stumbled upon something extraordinary. There was something about Jane Austen's wit, her keen observation of the societal norms of her time, and her timeless characters that resonated with me on a profound level.

It wasn't just the romance that captivated me—it was the way she wrote about the human heart in all its complexity, with humor, grace, and a sharpness that pierced right through the conventions of her day and into the truth of emotional experience.

Austen's novels have been my companions through many seasons of life, offering solace, laughter, and, above all, understanding. Her heroines, from the spirited Elizabeth Bennet to the quietly resilient Anne Elliot, felt like old friends, guiding me through their stories of love, growth, and resilience. Each character, plot twist, and witty dialogue taught me something new about love, society, and the strength of character.

My fascination didn't stop at the pages of her books. The movie adaptations brought Austen's world to vivid life, allowing me to see the Regency era's grand balls, the elegant attire, and the beautiful English countryside. Seeing characters like Mr. Darcy and Captain Wentworth move and speak in these films added another layer to my appreciation, making my love for Austen's work even more immersive. Each adaptation, whether it faithfully followed the novels or re-imagined them in new contexts, underscored the timeless appeal of Austen's storytelling.

This deep-seated love for Austen's literature and its cinematic portrayals inspired me to embark on my own writing journey. My new series of standalone novels, "For The Love of Austen" is infused with lighthearted, contemporary small-town romances that feature swoony heroes, quirky, unforgettable heroines, and witty banter, all while sprinkling in mentions of Austen to pay homage to her influence.

In crafting my novels, I aimed to honor Austen's legacy by focusing on character-driven stories that explore the nuances of relationships and societal expectations. Like Austen, I wanted to write romances that were not just about the eventual union of hearts but about the personal growth of the characters, their misunderstandings, and the journey they undertake to understand themselves and each other better. Each book in my series has a nod to Austen in subtle references woven into the narrative.

Writing these novels has been a journey of love, and it's my hope that, in some small way, my series brings the same joy, reflection, and sense of connection to my readers that Jane Austen's novels have brought to me.

As I continue to write and share these stories, I feel eternally grateful to Jane Austen, whose genius continues to inspire writers and lovers of romance across the globe.

The first book in my series is THE SWEETEST INGREDIENT and on sale now at all major online book retailers and on Amazon in Kindle Unlimited.

Hallmark's Loveuary Jane Austen movies

I'm so excited to watch Hallmark's Loveuary Jane Austen movies. 😍 Is anyone else?

I've been a long-time fan of her works and nothing makes me happier than curling up with a Jane Austen novel or watching one of the many fabulous adaptations of her works. There's just something about Austen's witty characters, romantic storylines, and commentary on 19th-century British society that I find utterly charming.

Over the years, I've lost count of how many times I've read and watched Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma. I never seem to tire of the Bennett sisters' adventures in courtship, Marianne and Elinor's contrasting approaches to romance πŸ’žπŸ’”, and Emma's misguided matchmaking.

Austen's masterful prose and keen observations on relationships, manners, and class have truly inspired my own writing. ✍️ Over the past year, I started writing three contemporary romance novels that pay homage to her works. My books follow independent heroines as they navigate the tricky waters of dating, family, and finding their place in the world.

Whether reading the original novels, watching the film adaptations, or working on my writing, Jane Austen's stories never fail to delight me. Her words transport me to another time while conveying universal truths about human nature that still ring true.

Here is Hallmark's movie line-up. Which movie are you most excited to watch?
